A lot of videos have been posted on Twitter in the past two weeks, from countless protests in support of the Black Lives Matter movement to the opposite end in the range: cute dog videos and silly amusements. When a friend asked me whether it was possible in saving these YouTube videos on the laptop or phone- for historical reference or to share with family members and friends outside of the Twitter bubble, I got to work researching how.
What are you aware of? It’s easy to save videos, once you know how. Here are the tools and steps you’ll need follow to download a Twitter video to your PC, Android cellphone, iPhone ($499 on Apple) or iPad ($240 for Amazon).
Download Twitter videos onto your computer
There are two main websites that make the process of downloading a video posted to Twitter a simple process.
Both websites work the same way. You’ll need to use the Twitter website to copy the direct link of the tweet with the video you want to save, and then insert it in the text field on either site, then select download.
SaveTweetVid will then ask you to select from three different options for quality. Then, click Download beside the number of the image you want to save and the clip will start downloading. You can also look up the QR code at the end of the page to download the file onto your phone or tablet.
Twitter Video Downloader will also give you different quality options. Click on the Download button next to the video quality you’d like to download.
There’s an app for this… available on Android
If you’d like to download the video on an Android handset, using the aptly called Download Twitter Videos toolkit Inflact will get the task completed.
This app has ads but you are able to remove ads through an in-app purchase costing 99 cents.
After installing it start it and select the settings you like best. I set it to download videos in the highest resolution , and to automatically begin downloading when I copy or share a link into the app.
With Download Twitter Videos setup you can use the Twitter app to locate tweets that include the video you wish to save. Select the Share button. Then, select Copy URL to tweet or share Tweet via. If you copied the link you copied, close the Twitter application, then open the download option for Twitter Videos, and paste the app’s URL into text field located at the top of the screen.
If you tapped on share tweet, look for and tap on the Download Tweet Video app icon within the share options. The app will begin downloading the video on the background.
To view your downloaded videos you must open the app and choose the video that you want to view. It is then possible to transfer it to another application, save it in your Photos app you can upload it onto cloud storage services to ensure its safekeeping.
iPhone users can benefit from Apple’s Shortcuts app
Apple’s Shortcuts app is a efficient and effective tool to automate routine tasks or performing more intricate things, like download videos downloaded from Twitter.
Before you can install the Shortcut which downloads videos, you’ll first need to set up Shortcuts for the device you use for it. iPhone as well as iPad.

After all that done, you can save a Twitter Video to your Photos app in two taps. Open the Twitter app and browse to the tweet that includes the video you want to save. Press the Share button, and then look at Twitter Video Downloader V2.6 on the list of options; tap it.
The Shortcut will be launched, and a few seconds after that, you’ll be asked if you’d like your copy this video in high medium or low quality. Select your option, and after that, let the Shortcut take care of the rest of the task. When it’s done, you can find the saved video in the Photos app.
